1. How long has Armco Builders been constructing new homes?
Armco has been building new homes for more than 20 years. During that time, John Wright, Armco’s owner and president, has built nearly 2000 homes throughout Clay County. He works with a select group of trade partners, some of whom have been with him from the start. Mr. Wright has earned a reputation as a quality builder and designer. He is a state certified general contractor, a certified architectural designer, and a licensed real estate broker. He is also a past chairman of the Clay Builders Council and a member of the Northeast Florida Builders Association. Mr. Wright has been Clay County Builder of the Year and a number of his homes have been selected as Parade of Homes winners.

2. How long will it take to build my new home?
From the time your new home is permitted it normally takes approximately 5-6 months to build your home. Adverse weather, industry-wide issues such as building material shortages, and buyer change orders can add to this time.

3. What steps are involved in building my home?
Once you have contracted with us to build your home, our drafting department draws the initial floor plan with any changes or upgrades that you have specified. We then have an in-depth meeting with you called the plan review. During the plan review we discuss your floor plan and elevation in detail with you to ensure that we have designed your home exactly the way you want it.
After the plan review is completed, the plans are returned to our drafting department to be redrawn to include any additional changes you have requested. At this point, roof truss engineering, shear wall engineering, and energy calculations will be ordered for your home. The building process has begun; however, this does not mean construction will immediately commence.
There are numerous additional steps involved in constructing your home. These steps can be broken down into the following sequence: Permitting, Site Preparation, Slab preparation and Underground Plumbing, Slab Pour, Framing, Trade Rough-in, Insulation, Drywall, Trim Out, Exterior Concrete, Landscaping, Flooring Installation, New Home Orientation and Walk-Through, and at last the Closing, where the final paperwork is completed and you receive the keys to your new home!
As you can see, there are numerous steps and complex processes that are involved, so you want to select a builder who has been in the business for a while and who has a reputation for constructing quality homes.

4. Can I customize my new home?
At Armco we realize that every buyer is different and has their own idea of what will work for them. We can make just about any change you desire, and we will work closely with you to make sure your home is built to your specifications. Very few builders will do this for you.

5. Do you offer a warranty with your homes?
All our homes come with a ten-year structural warranty and a one-year builder warranty on materials and workmanship. These warranties are administered by RCR Warranty Management, a local company that administers warranties for a number of builders in the Jacksonville area. Our buyers receive an in-depth RCR Orientation and Walk-though about one week before closing. After closing, RCR will conduct a 60-day and 11-month Walk-through to address any first year issues. We also provide our buyers with a renewable one year $250,000 termite bond.
